Nicolas Payne-Baader is a writer born and raised in London. After specialising predominantly in food, menswear and lifestyle writing, he co-founded SLOP Magazine in 2023 and has continued to focus on food and wine writing as well as expanding the editorial platform of SLOP. His style tries to be expressive and well researched whilst not taking itself too seriously.
Having trained as a butcher he worked at Flock & Herd Peckham and Hill & Szrok before moving into hospitality at St John and Dalla. Previous to food he worked in PR and Marketing having been Head of Gentleman’s PR at hat makers Lock & Co. and Account Manager at Sane Communications.
